Earlier this week, we got our first look at the highly-anticipated new series, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  The new series takes place after The Avengers, and has Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) leading a new team of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives against supernatural forces.  Today, seven more seconds of precious footage have been released, and Coulson announces “Welcome to Level 7″.  Some may wonder, “What is Level 7″?  I wonder if these incredibly brief snippets of footage will be a consistent thing throughout the summer.  If so, that’s incredibly obnoxious.  The people who would watch seven seconds of footage are already going to see the show.  Provide real trailers or keep the show under wraps (I suspect the next major look at the show will come during Comic-Con).

Hit the jump to watch seven seconds of footage because you’re already going to see the show.  The series also stars also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Chloe BennetAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesdays this fall on ABC. [Update: ABC has released a full 3-minute trailer for the series, which is now included after the jump.]

    LUKE CAGE!

    • Joe

      or Rage from New Warriors?

      • http://www.facebook.com/osarumen.erhunmwunsee Erhunmwunsee Osarumen

i don’t think is rage at all. rage face is painted white. he as a clown face. i have a feeling is Luke cage

      • Joe

These clues suggest it is Rage rather than Cage:

        1) The speed dash by the character (towards the end of the trailer).

        2) Look at the Marvel bumper (title sequence at the start). It clearly shows Rage as a character.

      • http://www.facebook.com/osarumen.erhunmwunsee Erhunmwunsee Osarumen

that means they didn’t get the look of rage face. rage face is supposed to be painted. but anyways may be its an alternative version of rage right?

      • Joe

yeah possibly. i guess maybe a guy running around a painted white face may not be taken too seriously! :P

i have a strong feeling that this show will be way better than arrow!!

  • kngoworld

What is the over/under for episodes before being canceled? 6?

    • King of the Desert

It’ll last a season at least. Most likely longer, this isn’t just a typical new show. This one has a built in fan base already, kids will love it, and its going to be on early enough the whole family can watch it together.

      46.

    • Lance Medallion

It’s already gotten a full season order.

Joss Whedon has an established record of incredible success in comics, TV and movies, and to think he hasn’t learned by now, how to put together a great TV show based on his most successful endeavor is just pure asshattery. You think he and his team haven’t thought it out?

I hate these cynical types that want stuff to fail so they can feel better about their pathetic lives.

      • kngoworld

I just don’t think that enough people will watch “secondary” characters from the Avengers Universe. I would love to add another great show to my TV watch list, I just have a hard time believing this will last. Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, etc. has a built in fan base, but those characters won’t be making very many real appearances in this.

      • Bao Nguyen

if they do it right, people will watch. I know I’m excited to see it. I’m really hoping we get to see a cameo from one of the Avengers or possibly have them co-star in an episode.

Looks good so far, like if i have to choose between that and CSI ill watch that.

    • Joe

It’s going up against NCIS it seems…

  • King E-Dawg

Gah, the man’s dialogue makes my ears bleed. I don’t know what everyone sees in it.

  • Nick

Doesn’t seem to have any charm… Like at all and I think ALL good shows have charm

    • King of the Desert

Breaking Bad has zero charm, Sons of Anarchy has zero charm, Deadwood had zero charm, The Wire had zero charm. These are all excellent shows and they had no charm. Characters you might like, but no charm.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does that look underwhelming at best! looks like it was directed on the same back lot they used for sliders! Yup i said SLIDERS!!!

  • Bob

People are hating big time right now. It looks fine imho. It’s definetly got me excited to see it when it premieres. And is that Luke Cage? If so, awesome! Also is that Quickslver I spot with super speed at 2:19?!?!

Looks like we know how they plan to introduce Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver before Avengers 2.

    • Nick

I dont think they will use any major characters on here to tie into the movies.. The average mover goers aren’t going to follow this, most probably won’t even know it exists.. We are a very small percentage to the overall movie goers of a movie like the avengers. I’m not hating but it doesn’t look good.. I think joss is at his best with movies.. Firefly was amazing and got treated poorly, but serenity was killer.. Dollhouse was awful and Buffy is an acquired taste but only firefly has the charisma a show like this requires.. I think everyone is cautiously optimistic at best

      • cruzzercruz

Yeah, Dollhouse, post-mid season 1 is most definitely not awful whatsoever. And Buffy is considered one of the greatest television shows of all time. They teach women’s studies and television courses based solely around the show.

Whedon cut his teeth making some of the most emotionally stirring, heartfelt, and genuinely entertaining television in the last twenty years, the guy is at home there. He just also happens to be great at making movies. Only people with a serious misconception with how well Joss and his stable of writers handle television would be concerned about this.

      • DG

‘Buffy is considered one of the greatest television shows of all time”? Yeah no. GTFO with your made up nonsense.

      • cruzzercruz

Both Time and Empire have it on their list of greatest shows of all time, it was nominated for Emmys, Golden Globes, and Nebula awards, but it doesn’t need validation of magazines. Anyone who creates or writes about television understands the cultural impact of the show and why it’s considered to be so fantastic. Some knuckle dragger on a comments section can be lost to the fact, that’s fine. We don’t expect much of you.

  • DjangoBro

Wow I take everything back, this looks soo badddddddd looool omggg

  • The E Street Shuffle

I don’t get the negativity, trailers for shows essentially NEVER do them justice, and this looked fine.

OK Matt, you dissed the short trailer (I think you used the word obnoxious, which is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black). ABC have posted a really long one now. Here is your chance to modify your stance and sound like less of a tool.
As for the show, it looks great! Seriously they could set a scrabble tournament in the Marvel universe and it would kick ass.

    • RiddleThemThis

Matt said that if they continued to do the 7 second trailer that it would be obnoxious, they didn’t do that, so he’s not calling them obnoxious. Therefore he has nothing to apologize for.

  • cruzzercruz

Everyone is going to whine and moan about this show until they’re glued to their seat watching it. I’m just glad to have another Whedon show back on the air.

  • Joseph M

Avengers was good. This is standard pretty young generics getting into predictable situations while making the government look good. I’m off to watch the last ep of Hemlock Grove.

  • KryptonianWarrior

Looks like I just found my new favorite show this fall! Between this and The Walking Dead, it’s going to be a great Fall season!

  • Joe

Don’t know why this is attracting some negativity already. I thought it looked sufficiently dramatic and mysterious. Son of Coul seems able to carry this as a lead.

  • Bao Nguyen

What I’m curious about is that once Avengers 2 comes out and Thanos wreaks all kinds of havoc, will the TV show coincide with the events that’s taking place during the movies?

  • Michael Horne

Can’t believe the amount of negativity here. The 3-minute trailer has got some great production values, funny moments and doesn’t give too much of the pilot away. Whedon clearly loves the Marvel universe, has helped to craft something that looks and sounds good. Give it a chance, guys, there’s hope here!

    • LEM

Agreed, I thought it was a great trailer and did a great job establishing that there will be super heroes but it’s not about them. I did think the end should have had a wow moment but overall it made me want to watch it.

  • seito

Seems a bit “paint by numbers” to me.

  • Michael

Why does this tasteless author praise so much garbage from Marvel? This looks like complete sh!t. Oh yea, Iron Man 3-B rating. Star Trek D-rating. Tasteless author is tasteless.

  • Vin

takes place after the avengers? didn’t agent coulson died in that movie??
