NBC is busy kicking off the Television Critics Association today, and a couple great bits of news came from NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt. First, according to EW he revealed that for all those worried fans out there, Community has not been canceled, and while it’s been on hiatus, the third season will definitely air starting sometime in the spring, but a date is not set in stone just yet. When asked about the possibility for a fourth season, he replied simply, “I don’t know. Those are hard questions to answer at this point. We’ll make that decision closer to the upfront.” Hit the jump for news on Alec Baldwin‘s involvement in another season of 30 Rock.
In addition, while it’s been talked about several times that Alec Baldwin was looking to leave NBC’s 30 Rock at some point, according to Deadline, Greenblatt revealed that Baldwin’s contract was quietly renewed for another season. However, the catch right now is that the series itself hasn’t yet been renewed for a seventh season, and that kind of decision won’t be made until the upfronts season gets closer so NBC can see how the comedy does in the ratings and how their new pilots turn out. Either way, it’s good to hear that Baldwin isn’t leaving just yet, but I can’t imagine him staying past just one more season. After all, Baldwin is busy enough playing Words with Friends.
