Coming on the heels of news that NBC’s 30 Rock will be returning for a 13-episode final season next year, Alec Baldwin appears to be filling his hiatus spots with a couple of projects with familiar friends.  First up, Deadline reports that Baldwin will re-team with Woody Allen on the writer/director’s next untitled project.  Baldwin stars in Allen’s latest film, To Rome with Love, and apparently Allen took a liking to the actor as he’s decided to include him in his next feature.  After spending the past few years shooting abroad, the untitled film is set to shoot in San Francisco and New York this year.Sally Hawkins (Happy Go-Lucky) is in talks to star as one of two female leads in the dramedy, with Cate Blanchett and Bradley Cooper apparently eyeing other roles in the pic.  Hit the jump for news concerning Baldwin re-teaming with Russell Brand.alec-baldwin-russell-brand-rock-of-agesAdditionally, Baldwin is set to take part in another onscreen reunion as Deadline also reports that the actor will star alongside his Rock of Ages co-star Russell Brand in the comedy Man That Rocks the Cradle.  The film centers on “an overworked husband and father who thinks he has found the solution to all his problems by importing a super-nanny he is told is a true kid whisperer.”  As it turns out, said nanny is a man.  The report doesn’t specify, but I’m assuming Baldwin will be playing the father to Brand’s sure-to-be outlandish manny.  Or maybe they'll go full-on Adam Sandler and Brand will be playing the child. The script was originally written by Josh Cagan, but New Line will apparently be getting a scribe to tailor the script for Baldwin and Brand.  A director has yet to be attached, but Baldwin had nothing but great things to say about working with Brand on Rock of Ages and I’m eager to see the chemistry between the two when the big-screen musical hits theaters this summer.
