One of the very best things about the San Diego Comic-Con for me is the toys.  Not that I can necessarily afford to buy that many of them, but it’s cool to walk the floor (I can usually only hit it once) just to see what fandom’s finest craftsmen have come up with.  This year, Super 7 toys has deftly combined a little bit of the Lego aesthetic (not exactly that aesthetic, mind you) with their passion for Alien and Aliens and have come up with the Alien Egg Chamber Playset.  And it looks really cool.

The pre-order window for the set runs during Comic-Con only, which is to say Wednesday July 21st at 6PM up until Sunday, July 27th at 5PM.  While the sets run $100 (plus $15 for shipping), they’re apparently quite large.  Hit the jump for a better look at the Alien Egg Chamber Playset.

Orders can be made here during the allotted time. There will be a variance on materials used pending final order numbers. According to the Super 7:

This version features the black packaging and a charcoal base with printed cardboard inserts with custom artwork. As this was originally a labor of love project for us here at Super7, we had no idea it would touch the hearts of as many fans as it has.  All playsets will be limited to the number of orders received and made to order. Playset bases will be made from hand cast resin unless enough orders are received to manufacture the bases in injection molded plastic. Delivery date for resin bases will be 3-4 months, and injection bases will be 6-7 months (hopefully faster).  Thank you so much for your support of Super7 and this crazy playset of ours, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and that we can continue to make special and unique items like this in the future for you.
