Will Mary Jane Only a Be a Small Part of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2?

     October 19, 2012

Yesterday, we reported on Shailene Woodley being in talks to star in the adaptation of the young-adult novel Divergent.  Inside THR‘s story was a note regarding her recent talks for the role of Mary Jane in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  According to THR, Mary Jane Watson will only be a small part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but will be present to help set up the “Death of Gwen Stacy” repercussions of a third film.  Apparently, Sony is fairly confident that they can get at least a trilogy out of this reboot.

So if this story turns out to be true, it looks like Amazing Spider-Man 2 won’t be using a love-triangle as a central device, but it will make sure that Mary Jane doesn’t simply pop up in Peter’s time of grieving.  Maybe Sony can start prepping for a fourth film if Peter kills Mary Jane with radioactive spermThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due out May 2, 2014.
