The first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due out later this week, and, at least internationally, there are some obnoxious trailer teasers leading up to it. These trailer teasers, at best, show off the new costume in action, but mostly it’s just Spidey zipping around New York City. However, if you weren’t at Comic-Con, this is the first footage you’ll see of the character. What’s more interesting is the subtitle tacked on to the trailer: “Rise of Electro”. Sometimes foreign territories get different titles, so we don’t know if The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro will be used stateside.
Hit the jump to watch the brief teasers, and come back on December 5th to see the full trailer. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and Sally Field. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2, 2014.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
