We’ve seen what The Amazing Spider-Man villain The Lizard looks like in PEZ Dispenser-form, and now some concept art of the character may have leaked online. It’s possible this came from the production, but it’s also possible that some fan just tweaked what they saw at Comic-Con and posted the illustration online. As we said in our report on the film’s Comic-Con presentation, The Lizard looks closer to the Batman villain Killer Croc. This concept art shows a leaner version of the character, and the mouth is smaller and less toothy. Again, if this is concept art, then it’s just one of hundreds of designs that won’t resemble anything you’ll see on the big screen next summer. However, it may be a good idea for Sony to finally release an official image of Spidey’s new foe.
Hit the jump to check out the image. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3, 2012.

Oh sweet, Killer Croc on the big screen….wait, this is Spiderman?
I think you’ll find that Lizard pre-dates Killer Crocs creation by about 30+ years. So your statement would be better fitted had, Croc appeared in a Batman film, and you could have said, hey, Lizards in a Batman film.
Either way, to me, theres room for both. And Both have looked like eachother in various comics styles anyways. Only thing this is missing (at the moment) is a Lab-coat. But so what?
People on here will still Troll a movie without even seeing it. Thats the way of the world now i guess, the Net has created a world of Trolls. I wonder if theres a river of pink slime under their houses? Who ya gonna call?
I grew up with the 90s Spiderman and Batman 90s cartoon as reference. We’re all going to see it, so it doesn’t matter. I was merely poking fun. I could care less.
Doesn’t look savage enough
Looks like Voldemort
all they needed was a snout and a tattered lab coat
also it looks like the pez so I would say this is pretty final unless that was a concept pez
That lizard looks like Seal, Heidi Klum will love it.
Hahahaha…good one and totally agree….. =D
That looks absolutely terrible… and to think, people complained about the way Green Goblin looked.
Yeah, I would take this version of the Lizard over Raimi’s version of Green Goblin any day!
Yes it looks pretty disappointing, but at least I can take it seriously as a threat, unlike Raimi’s Goblin.
Nice try IllusionOfLife, but better luck next time!
I don’t understand. Is this the only villain appearing? If so, will this actually be playing in theaters or is it a made for television movie?
Looks like the aliens from M. Night Shyamalans “Signs”? especially the eyes and nose…even the stance? very “human” like.
That’s because it IS a human that has been infused with Lizard DNA. So of course it’s still anthropomorphic.
i prefer my version! ugh…i should even put the white trenchcoat on mine.

I thought Rhys Ifans would be wearing makeup when he was playing the lizard!
Please give the rights to Spidey back to Marvel. Just think how cool it would be to have Spider-Man in an Avengers sequel. You know Marvel would make sure Spider-Man was portrayed correctly.
Well…I was afraid of this.
This is actually what the Lizard looks like…or looked like back in the day of Marvel’s early inception. He was literally a Lizard man, nothing like McFarlane’s version of the character…which looked like a freaking Velociraptor or T-Rex…whaddaya do?
Can’t please em all, I guess.
I would have rather seen him totally tricked/mutated out into the full form of a bi-ped lizard…but that’s less realistic.
In their defense…I guess when he’s in his labcoat…they got it right.
Perfect…
My first though was the goomba from Super Mario Bros. movie. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b24/msbillen/Goombas1.jpg
Sleestak
keep in mind Hollywood makes movies for the world to see … not just comic book nerds. the lizard needs to be more believable to normal people … not comic geeks.
He’s… naked??
Excuse me, I’m gonna go slit my wrists.
Awful. I’m such a LIZARD fan in the comics and of his many designs and this is the worst I’ve seen. I hate the head. It doesn’t match the body at all. And it makes me laugh cause it does look like it belongs in a Super Mario Bros Movie or “V” The TV Series. They needed to have him actually have a LIZARD head. If he can grow a tail, arm, talons… it makes sense that he could have grown a snout. But this screams STUDIO EXECS all over it – for wanting him to have a more human face. Not a smart move.
Super Mario Bros! Hahaha. He looks like a koopa.
In any hero movies, they give humanIty in every foes. And that is an important thing. The bad guy, to finally makes a good movie, must bé bad , cruel, powerfull , but teared inside, and look like suffer somewhere inside for many reasons … To enrich thé character, to make thé spectator feel a percent of compassion for him. And that s why you see thé lizard like this. Look closely and you Will see thé disymetry of thé eyes just cleverly to make him seem réal. And look too to his face and you will see a monster and human suffering from his fate. Just like sandman in spidey 3. So, guys, dont blâme if it looks différent from your papers souvenirs and accept that some différences CAN bé a clever idea that feet to thé new art from paper to movie and i am sûre that you Will enjoy thé final work even if it always a right to tell what s wrong. And maybe it would havé been possible to make that lizard looks more animal just stretching his mouth for few centimeters or give him sharp teeth… But finally what i say is that give him a human head and expression is more important than you think first…. We ll see….
Zoom to his eyes and what you see? A bad guy? Or someone who feel bad? Sorry i am french ans i cannot write what i want to say. But look vert close to what is inside his eyes….
……-_______-……….
Wowowowow.
He looks so stupid. Why the hell couldn’t they just do this? http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/spider-man-reboot-lizard.jpg
I know Raimi would’nt let the lizard be this freaking bad..
You do realize that Raimi liked humanizing Spidey’s rogue’s gallery and making them simpathtic (even when they weren’t supposed to be) right?
I can easily see Raimi’s version of the Lizard looking exactly like this!
Call me boring, but I’m going to wait until I’ve seen the actual finished product on the moving screen rather than piss and moan online about the look of some rough sketch outlining a potential ‘concept’ or idea about how something might look.
Ok, time get on with my life…
Mommy, I don’t like it! It’s not scary! I’ll have nightmares with ponies and rainbows!
Certainly, the script better be ass kicking or I’ll force Disney to take Spider-Man away from Sony, since the latter has done enough damage to the wall-crawling hero image.
What the fuck is that? he looks like green shit. Why didn’t they just make him look like he did in the 90′s animated series, he looked BADASS in that.
