In the swirl of all this Dark Knight Rises news, a new poster for The Amazing Spider-Man has popped up online. It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from the pic, but it looks as though the marketing campaign may be gearing up in earnest (hopefully a new trailer isn’t too far behind). As for the poster, I really like it. It sets itself apart from the Sam Raimi trilogy quite nicely, and I enjoy how the spider logo comes into play. It sports that tagline “The Untold Story”, which is Sony’s way of saying “we’re doing the origin story again but it’s totally different.” I’m intrigued by Marc Webb as the director and I’m a big fan of the main cast, so I’m hoping this all comes together well.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, and Martin Sheen. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3rd, 2012. [We’ve updated the poster with the hi-res, un-watermarked version]
