While Marvel’s current focus is on the upcoming superhero assembly film, The Avengers, they haven’t lost sight of their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.  The one-two punch of The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man will certainly go a few rounds before DC’s The Dark Knight Rises lands the knockout blow later this summer.  In the meantime, you can take a break from all of our Avengers coverage and take a look at this new international trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, which features new footage, including an extended fight sequence and some nice, quieter moments of Peter Parker both with his Aunt May and his girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally FieldThe Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3rd.

Check out the new international trailer after the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man:

Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today.  In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret his father held…a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man.  This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.  On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins.

I had a nightmare last night that TDKR sucked. It was horrible! I woke up in a cold sweat.

Plus side, they somehow had the Joker back in it.

    • Hunter

Thats crazy I have had like 3 of those also for some reason. I am so happy when I wake up haha

  • ozzie

I still cant wait for this movie …

such a poorly edited trailer. the earlier one was much better.

Still… i’ve been following andrew garfield over here in the UK for the last six year starting with his fantastic TV work in BOY A and Red Riding and I have complete faith in him.

Is it just me or does the lighting look so cheap in some scenes. Worst offender being the apartment scene it looks so fake, in every way.

I agree, it may also have something to do with the cinematographer’s misunderstanding of shooting digital, shooting film and shooting digital is two different things, also add in 3D and you have a whole other story, I think the reason HUGO won for best cinematography this year is because there has not been a a film shot digitally or in 3D with such amazing lighting.

The whole movie looks mediocre. Nothing in these Spidey trailers have impressed me like the previous films have

I think Andrew Garfield is one of those talented young actors who could really bring something special to the role. Hopefully they construct an interesting movie around him!

@ Farzan: I think you’re mediorce and know nothing about what makes a good Spidey film. Troll much, do we?

    TRASH!!!!!!!
And oh look, a big a** lizard on a tall building. Um, could that be a homage to King Kong? LOL!
And the pixs I saw of him and Emma(apparently the new “it” couple) look fake. Hollywood fake.
This movie is going to tank!

Wow. This movie is being greeted with a big, old ‘Meh’ from the online film community. No matter how many sites try to hype it up, it just keeps falling flat. Not a good sign for it’s prospects…

I’d like for this film to be a winner for several reasons…the bulk of them being the cast & the director.

I actually like the tone & “darkness” of the pic…but truly it needs to get more “fantastical” than actual to be a bankable Spidey pic.

At the end of the day…its got the capabilities of being a hit…but some of it does just seem so “phoned in” @ times…Ian especially. His take on Doctor Conners just doesnt jee-hah with the flipping pages that featured Conners.

Then again…this is only a handful of snippets & bit scenes.

Maybe he’ll be great as the Lizard.
