FX has released the first American Horror Story: Freak Show teaser trailer in addition to confirming the series’ October 8th premiere date, which we told you about last week.  The fourth season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series takes place in the sleepy town of Jupiter, Florida in 1952, as “a troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike.”  This season will tell the story of the “freaks” against the backdrop of “the dying world of the American carny experience.”  Sounds like American Horror Story alright.  Jessica Lange plans for this to be her last season with the show, and she’ll be joined onscreen by AHS veterans Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, and Angela Basset, as well as AHS newcomer Michael Chiklis.

Hit the jump to watch the decidedly creepy American Horror Story: Freak Show teaser.  The series premieres on FX Wednesday, October 8th at 10pm ET/PT.
