The fourth installment in the American Pie franchise, American Reunion, is on its way, and today we’ve finally gotten our first look at the pic. A slideshow of sorts has been released that features all of the actors back together again photo booth-style, and it’s strangley affecting in its nostalgia. Matt Nathanson’s cover of “Laid” plays over the images, and if you’ve grown up with the series as I have (we’re not counting those painful direct-to-DVD spinoffs), it brings back some fond adolescent memories from when the films first hit theaters. Cue Mark Hoppus belting “I guess this is growing up.”
Hit the jump to check it out for yourself. The film stars Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge and Shannon Elizabeth. American Reunion opens April 6, 2012.

I was in high school when the first one came out so I am down with a reunion! American Reunion
Remember when everyone else was “hotter” and “cooler” than Alysson Hannigan? My, my, things change.
So glad they got everyone back in the cast! This movie is going to be amazing, I was worried they wouldn’t get alyson back.

Wow… My 10 Year reunion is in 2012. This totally brings me back to the highschool years. I’m actually really looking forward to this.
First of all, I loved the first American Pie movie and I thought it was funny.
American Pie 2 was good and not as great as the first one.
I haven’t watched American Pie 3.
Now there is American Reunion (aka. American Pie 4), my big question is why now?
I don’t understand why this movie is being made, oh because the actors from the first three movies are now shit actors who can’t get successful careers.
I am done with the series because I waited for a fourth one but it didn’t happen so I decide to forget it and stopping waiting for a American Pie 4.
It is like waiting for The Goonies 2 to happen but it doesn’t then when it does, no one interested.
I really think American Reunion gets bomb in the box office because there are so many good movies out next year.
Still I hoping this new movie will bring back old memories.

Second: everyone can recognize that Hollywood has been moving toward name recognition for the last five years in order to generate ticket sales. Star Trek, Transformers, Smurfs, Fast Furious, etc…
It’s all about the dollar which will degenerate your argument about the actors being paid less and less which is the reason for the film being made considering this franchise was a big money maker.
Third: most of the actors have gone on to some profitable careers considering the standards of Hollywood. Biggs was a sitcom actor last year. Scott was an action star and got several pay days. Mena suvari got an Oscar. Tara reid is Tara. Allyson hannigan? Well the most successful of all and still returning. While money may be a factor, they have all returned for something special.
Fourth: Somebody is WRONG on the Internet
Fifth: while it may be a money grab, the directors have always been about quality and development as evidenced in the first movie with the different tiers of love making involved. this is not gratuitous. It is an observation and relation to the current class of 1998-2002. The fourth movie will explore what that class would most likely experience at the current level ten years later in an extreme proportion but in a relatable way just as the first did. So, just live with your butthurt in peace.
