Remember earlier this year when we mentioned that Will Ferrell was set to star in The House, the new comedy from Neighbors' screenwriters Brendan O’Brien and Andrew J. Cohen? Well now fellow SNL vet Amy Poehler is reported as being in negotiations to join him. She would play Ferrell's wife, completing the married couple at the center of the story who manage to lose their daughter's college funds.  The comedy follows them as they attempt to get their cash back by teaming up with their neighbors in order to start an illegal casino in the basement of their suburban house. Poehler's character has the additional complication that she is worried about losing her daughter if and when they ship her off to school.

For those of you who can remember back to 2007, Poehler and Ferrell were famously at odds on screen as ice-skating rivals in the Josh Gordon and Will Speck sports comedy, Blades of Glory. Poehler can be heard voicing the character Joy in Pixar's upcoming feature film Inside Out, and will be seen later this year in the Universal comedy, Sisters, where she teams up with Tina Fey. She'll also reprise her role as Susie in the Netflix series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp premiering later this summer.

As for The House, Cohen will make his feature directorial debut, and Ferrell will be producing the picture with Adam McKay through Gary Sanchez; Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe are also producing. The New Line comedy is looking to start production in Los Angeles this August.
