According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has attached Amy Poehler to star in the upcoming adaptation of the upcoming children's books featuring "Lunch Lady".  Teaching kids that the overweight middle-aged woman behind the counter of their school cafeteria isn't completely dead inside, the upcoming "Lunch Lady" books centers on a mild-mannered school cafeteria server who secretly dishes out helpings of justice as she and her assistant investigate wrongdoings. The books also feature three kids who try to figure out her double life.  Sarah Haskins ("InfoMania") and Emily Halpern ("The Unit") will adapt such books as "Lunch Lady and the League of Librarians" and "Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute" and since their background isn't in unbearable romantic comedies, I'll give them, and certainly Poehler, the benefit of the doubt.

But you want to know something sad?  Change the gender of the lead character and you essentially have what wounds like a Kevin James movie.  Want to know something even sadder?  We now have a working description of what a "Kevin James movie" is.
