Promo Poster and Synopsis for Andrea Arnold’s WUTHERING HEIGHTS

     November 13, 2010

Our coverage of AFM (American Film Market) keeps on rolling, with Steve nabbing both a photo of the promo poster and a synopsis for Wuthering Heights, the upcoming adaptation of the Emily Brontë novel from director Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, Red Road). Hit the jump to check out the promo poster and synopsis.

Update: The studio has asked us to take down the images. Sorry if you missed them.

Here’s the synopsis for Wuthering Heights:

What would you do if you were denied your soulmate?

The passionate tale of Heathclith and Cathy (Kaya Scodelario), two teenagers whose elemental love for each other creates a storm of vengeance.

From director Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, Red Road), comes a new take on the classic, a startling vision of desire and obsession.

Fish Tank, for all its cold bleakness, was at heart a surprisingly in-tune examination of teen angst. It’s exactly that sort of real world-meets-naive adolescent contrast that made, and continues to make, Brontë’s original novel such a powerfully affective read. With Kayla Scodelario (Skins) having nabbed the role of Cathy (as she so eloquently announced back in April), and a script written by Arnold and Olivia Hetreed (Girl with a Pearl Earring), American film adaptation #5 of Wuthering Heights is so far looking positively peachy.

Wuthering Heights is set for release in 2011.
