Angelina Jolie has begun work on an untitled film that's a love story set during the Bosnian War.  According to Reuters [via THR], Jolie made a surprise visit to Sarajevo over the weekend and said that shooting would begin this fall and center on "a couple who meet on the eve of the war and the effect it has on their relationship."  Jolie explained that "The film is a love story, not a political statement."  The film will be comprised of actors from various ethnicities and that Jolie wishes to "involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can."

Reuters doesn't explain the extent of Jolie's involvement.  While it sounds like she's certainly producing, there's no word on whether she'll be acting in the film, making it a directorial debut, or any other details.  However, Jolie making a socially-conscious film is no surprise as she's served as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador since 2001.
