'Attack on Titan' Extended Trailer

Fans of the human-chomping anime Attack on Titan have been champing at the bit for a second season for some time now, at least since its 2013 debut. While this trailer is for the second compilation film Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom - basically just the second-half of the first season cobbled together into a "movie" - it does feature a new ending sequence that will tie it into 2016's second season of the anime. The film, opening in Japan this weekend, also sports a new dubbing and a 5.1ch remaster with the original voice cast. For those of you who are curious,  he trailer features the film's theme song "Jiyū no Daishō" (The Price of Freedom) by Linked Horizon. Thanks to Anime News Network for bringing this one to our attention.

And for a bonus round of Attack on Titan, head on over to Nuke the Fridge to check out the live-action trailer for the upcoming movie!

'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F' Trailer for US Release on August 4th

I have to admit, I got pretty excited watching the domestic trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'. I haven't gotten a chance to check out 2013's Battle of Gods, so I was immensely impressed with the animation style of this new trailer. It blew me away, but perhaps that's because I'm still stuck in my memories of the 1990s series. So it's like a little nostalgia trip in which I get to see my favorite heroes and villains, but they're back with a vengeance, shiny new clothes, and all new powers. I'll be sure to catch this one in theaters if at all possible.

Synopsis:

Hot on the heels of last year’s summer blockbuster, Battle of Gods, Dragon Ball Z is back in theaters. Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is the second film personally supervised by the series creator himself, Akira Toriyama. The new movie showcases the return of Frieza – one of the most iconic villains of all time.

Even the complete obliteration of his physical form can’t stop the galaxy’s most evil overlord. After years in spiritual purgatory, Frieza has been resurrected and plans to take his revenge on the Z-Fighters of Earth. Facing off against Frieza’s powerful new form, and his army of 1,000 soldiers, Goku and Vegeta must reach new levels of strength in order to protect Earth from their vengeful nemesis.

'Two More Eggs' from 'Homestar Runner' Creators

Yet another trip into nostalgia for me here, even if the new product is a bit soft-boiled. The Homestar Runner site was one of my go-to places on the net back in the day, so a new project from The Brothers Chaps obviously got my attention. Then I watched the trailer for Two More Eggs. Now I know how my parents probably felt when they saw Homestar Runner for the first time. It's official; I'm old.

Here's the press release for Two More Eggs:

THE BROTHERS CHAPS, OF ACCLAIMED ANIMATED WEB SERIES "HOMESTAR RUNNER," HAVE CREATED "TWO MORE EGGS," A SERIES OF CARTOON SHORTS FOR DISNEY XD

-- To Debut on Disney XD's YouTube Channel and WATCH Disney XD Tuesday, June 23 --

Acclaimed web animation pioneers The Brothers Chaps (Mike and Matt Chapman), creators of the hugely popular series "HomestarRunner," will present the eclectic "Two More Eggs," a series of 40 original cartoon shorts, on Disney XD's YouTube Channel and WATCH Disney XD today, TUESDAY, JUNE 23. The series launches with three animated shorts, followed by a new episode every Tuesday throughout the summer. The project marks Disney XD's foray into original content created specifically for its non-linear platforms. It is scheduled for the Disney XD cable and satellite channel later this year.

A production of The Brothers Chaps' Citywide Hoop Champs, Inc. in association with Disney Television Animation, each installment of "Two More Eggs" incorporates a variety of animation techniques, indicative of the brothers' signature style, including flash, computer-generated imagery and animation mixed with live-action.

The premiere episodes are "Dooble - Dooblie Doo," where Dooble explores the world while singing his signature song, "CGI Palz - Theme Song," featuring Rotisserie, Rooty, Arlington, The Lenore Street Bridge and Pekot performing their theme song that explains computer-generated imagery, and "Hot Dip - Not 4 Momz," a commercial parody for Hot Dip, the latest snack food enjoyed by everyone except moms.

The Atlanta-based brothers' two-man, one-stop animation shop has written, produced directed, edited and voiced hundreds of "Homestar Runner" episodes since its inception in 2000, and continue to roll out new episodes. In addition to "Two More Eggs," The Brothers Chaps have worked with Disney TV Animation on several projects. Matt Chapman wrote for the Emmy Award-winning "Mickey Mouse" cartoon shorts and "Gravity Falls," and voiced some characters for the latter and "Star vs. The Forces of Evil." Both Matt and Mike Chapman wrote for the Annie Award-winning "Wander Over Yonder."

'Jeff and Some Aliens' Invade Comedy Central

As THR reports, Comedy Central has picked up Jeff and Some Aliens, a spinoff series that briefly appeared as a segment on the animated shorts showcase, TripTank. Creators Sean Donnelly and Alessandro Minoli have crafted a new series that centers on Jeff (Brett Gelman) and the three aliens sent to Earth with the mission of studying him to determine whether or not humanity should be destroyed. Jeff's boring life gets tossed into disarray, especially when he's forced to "participate in grueling intergalatic decathalons or perform Azurian honor killings to restore interstellar balance."

The 10-episode first season will debut in 2016 on Comedy Central. And if you think Donnelly and Minoli don't have a sense of humor, then take a look at what they had to say:

"We'd like to beat the trolls to the punch and be the first to say: 'They canceled Futurama for THIS?!'"
