You may recall a feeling of incredulity when hearing the plot of Emmerich’s follow-up to 2012 entitled Anonymous: the film revolves around the conspiracy theory that it was in fact Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, is the real genius behind the works typically attributed to Shakespeare. Here’s how Emmerich described the film:
“It’s a mix of a lot of things: it’s an historical thriller because it’s about who will succeed Queen Elizabeth and the struggle of the people who want to have a hand in it. It’s the Tudors on one side and the Cecils on the other, and in between [the two] is the Queen. Through that story we tell how the plays written by the Earl of Oxford ended up labeled ‘William Shakespeare’.”
Well, according to Exhibitor Relations, the crazy hijinks of Anonymous are set to unfold on March 25, 2011 — mark it on your calendar with your finest quill. Edward Hogg, Vanessa Redgrave, David Thewlis, and Rhys Ifans have signed on to star.

Wow he's not doing another end of the world movie!
I am very much looking forward to seeing the truth about Shakespeare dramatized. It will be a momentous event, even though I'm sure it will generate hysterics among those who cling to the status quo for dear life.
