Ant-Man has been filming for almost two months, but they’ve just added another bit of casting. According to THR, Martin Donovan (Weeds) has joined the cast to play a “pivotal” role that’s being kept under wraps. At this stage in the game, it’s presumably a minor role, but if it’s “pivotal”, I’m going to assume it might have consequences far beyond this movie, and with Marvel, that’s my working theory: everything branches out to much, much bigger stuff. Or maybe he’s just a guy that tells Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) some stuff about ants. Entomology is important.
The film also stars Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington, T.I., and John Slattery. Ant-Man opens July 17, 2015. Donovan will next be seen this December in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice.
