While Edgar Wright was free to leave Marvel’s Ant-Man over creative differences, the rest of the cast remains locked in place.  While most of them are refraining from making comments while the search for a new director continues, veteran Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas has no such reservation.  In a recent interview for his new film And So It Goes, Douglas briefly commented on his reaction to Wright’s departure, calling it “disappointing” and that “you’ll be hearing a whole lot from him – and I’m sure with a little vengeance.”

Starring Paul Rudd, Michael Peña, Patrick WilsonEvangeline Lilly, and Corey StollAnt-Man opens July 17, 2015.  Hit the jump for Douglas’ full comments.

Take a listen to Douglas’ comments on Wright’s departure from Ant-Man below, with his full quote following after (via Schmoes Know):

“I was very disappointed. I am a big fan of his movies. It’s a very disappointing situation. It happened very late in the game. I don’t think anybody’s quite recovered. My heart goes out to Edgar. He’s been involved with the project for a long time. But he’s talented enough that you’ll be hearing a whole lot from him – and I’m sure with a little vengeance.”

While it’s not the most controversial or revelatory of comments, it does land on the side of the divide that shows sympathy for Wright while not throwing the studio under the bus.  I don’t expect any of the other stars of the film to offer up their thoughts on Wright’s exit, not until another director comes aboard anyway.  Here’s a look at where that search stands as of this writing:
