Yesterday, Marvel sent out a press release announcing the start of filming on Peyton Reed's Ant-Man.  Today, the first Ant-Man image has gone online, and it features thief-turned-hero Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) standing out by the Golden Gate Bridge.  Specifically, he's at Fort Point, which is where Scottie "rescued" Madeleine in Vertigo, so there's some fun movie trivia for you.  I'd be surprised if Hitchcock's classic had anything to do with Reed's movie, but it's certainly a lovely, scenic viewpoint.  I have no idea where in the movie this could take place, but probably not near the conclusion unless Marvel is going for their first bummer ending.

Hit the jump to check out the Ant-Man image.  The film also stars Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington, T.I., and John SlatteryAnt-Man opens July 17, 2015.

I always like it when studios get out ahead of unofficial set photos, and while people will still be taking shots with their cell phone cameras, at least there's a nice, clear still to help give people a good idea about the movie rather than having fans pick over a fuzzy image like it's from the Zapruder film.

Here's the official synopsis for Ant-Man:

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Additionally, Corey Stoll plays Pym's star employee Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), aka Yellowjacket, who wants the Ant-Man suit for nefarious purposes, and Lilly co-stars as Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne.
