Marvel has release a new Ant-Man TV spot that would like to remind you that the movie is still part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.   The upcoming film starts Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a thief who works with brilliant inventor Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to pull off a heist that will save the world.

Isn’t world-saving the purview of a team of superheroes? Where does a thief factor in? This TV spot has Scott asking why they don’t ask The Avengers for help, and receives a skeptical look in return. I won’t spoil why The Avengers don’t show up, but it’s a good reason. Furthermore, I don’t really want them around. Marvel needs a palette-cleanser after Age of Ultron, and it’s good to show the MCU’s diversity, so a heist film is just the right size before the studio goes into the superhero madness that is Captain America: Civil War. Let the little guy have his movie first.

Check out the new Ant-Man TV spot below. The film opens in 3D on July 17th, and also stars Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, and Jordi Mollà as Castillo.
