FX has announced winter premiere dates for a few of its series.  As previously announced, Ali G: Rezurection will premiere in February on FXX.  Briefly:

  • Archer – Season five of the hilarious animated comedy series will debut on Monday, January 13th at 10pm on FX, and it will remain on the new night for the duration of its 13-episode season.
  • Justified – Season five of the beloved drama series will premiere on Tuesday, January 7th at 10pm ET on FX, kicking off 13 all new episodes that revolve around Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan Givens confronting the Crowes, “a deadly, lawless family from Florida intent on settling in Harlan with new criminal enterprises in mind.”
  • Chozen – The new animated comedy series centering on a gay white rapper fresh out of prison will have its series debut on Monday, January 13th at 10:30pm on FX after Archer.  The show features the voices of Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and Method Man.
  • The Americans – Season two of the excellent drama series will return to FX on an unspecified date in February.  Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys star.

LOS ANGELES, November 5, 2013 – FX has locked down the January premiere dates of its original series including the Emmy Award-winning drama Justified, the hit animated comedy Archer, and its new animated comedy Chozen, which had been scheduled to run on FXX but now will be paired with Archer for a Monday night animation block. With the move of Chozen to FX, FXX will pair Ali G: Rezurectionwith the critically acclaimed original comedy series Legit.  The scheduling announcements were made today by Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks

Up first for FX  in the new year is Season 5 of the Emmy and Peabody Award winning drama series Justified, which premieres on Tuesday, January 7 at 10 PM ET/PT.  This season, Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) confronts the Crowes, a deadly, lawless family from Florida intent on settling in Harlan with new criminal enterprises in mind. Meanwhile, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) struggles to free his imprisoned fiancée Ava (Joelle Carter) as he partners with the Dixie Mafia’s Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns). The series stars Emmy Award nominated Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Series co-stars are Emmy Award nominated Walton Goggins, Nick Searcy, Joelle Carter, Jacob Pitts, Erica Tazel, and Jere Burns. Based on the late Elmore Leonard’s novella “Fire in the Hole,”Justified was developed by Executive Producer/Showrunner Graham Yost. Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Michael Dinner, Fred Golan, Dave Andron, Don Kurt, and Elmore Leonard are Executive Producers ofJustified. Season 5 of FX’s hit animated comedy series Archer moves to a new night, airing Mondays at 10 PM ET/PT beginning on January 13. The award-winning series has become the highest-rated comedy series on FX, and routinely won its time-period last season in delivery of Adults 18-34. Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous, every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the ISIS staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain.  The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Adam Reed, and Lucky Yates. Archer was created by Adam Reed who also serves as Executive Producer alongside Executive Producer Matt Thompson and their Floyd County Productions who animates the series. Archer is produced by FX Productions. FX has ordered 13 episodes for the upcoming season.

The series premiere of Chozen is set for Monday, January 13 at 10:30 PM ET/PT.  Chozen is an animated comedy about its title character, “Chozen,” a gay white rapper fresh out of prison. Armed with a new message, Chozen is on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rap artist. His music and lyrics take aim at the stereotypes of machismo and misogyny that is synonymous with rap music.  And his new world view has been shaped by his time in prison. The voice cast features Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and Method Man. Grant Dekernion, who created Chozen, serves as Writer/Executive Producer of the series, and Tom Brady serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Danny McBride, Jody Hill, David Gordon Green, and Brandon James from Rough House Pictures (Eastbound & Down) are Executive Producers. Adam Reed and Matt Thompson of Floyd County Productions (Archer) are Executive Producers and their company will animate the series.  FX has ordered 13 episodes of Chozen.  The series is produced by FX Productions.

Season 2 of the award-winning drama series The Americans is scheduled to premiere in February on FX.

FXX will launch Season 2 of its acclaimed hit comedy series Legit and the debut of Ali G: Rezurection in FebruaryLegit, which aired on FX in its inaugural season, was one of the most critically acclaimed new comedies this year. Jim Jefferies, who co-created the series with Peter O’Fallon, stars as an edgy, foul mouthed stand-up comedian from Australia, in his mid-30s and living in LA, struggling to make his life and career more "legit," only to find it a difficult, uncomfortable uphill struggle every step of the way. Jim is encouraged in his quest by Steve, his neurotic best friend and roommate, a cyber law library salesman who struggles to stay on his feet in the wake of a divorce, and Steve’s brother, Billy, who suffers from advanced staged Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. Legit stars Jim Jefferies as Jim, Dan Bakkedahl as Steve, and DJ Qualls as Billy. Peter O'Fallon, Jim Jefferies, and Lisa Blum serve as Executive Producers. The series is produced by FX Productions. FXX has ordered 13 episodes for the upcoming season.

Ali G: Rezurection includes every episode of Da Ali G Show with new, original introductions starring Baron Cohen, along with the BAFTA Award winning English episodes of Da Ali G Show that never aired on American television and The Best of Ali GDa Ali G Show debuted on Channel 4 in the U.K. in 2003.  A character created by Baron Cohen, Ali G originated on Channel 4’s The 11 O’clock Show and was spun off into Da Ali G Show.  Baron Cohen produced 18 episodes, with 12 of those episodes airing on HBO in the U.S.  Alongside the eponymous Ali G, Da Ali G Show also features the much beloved Borat and Bruno characters, both of whom later headlined critically-acclaimed feature films. In addition to the Ali G episodes, FXX will receive and air all of the Ali G segments and vignettes from The 11 O’clockShow.
