In October, we reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be following up The Expendables 2 with the action flick Black Sands.  Schwarzenegger was reportedly set to play “a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest.”  Now the former California governor says there’s a supernatural element in the plot as well.  Speaking to TheArnoldFans (via The Playlist), Schwarzenegger says “I’m a kind of angel. I cannot currently say more about this film.”  TheArnoldFans add that the movie, now titled Black Sunday, is a cross between Commando and Constantine.  What does that mean?  My guess: His character and Alyssa Milano happily feeding demonic deer on a fiery hellscape.  Or maybe it’s like End of Days, and who didn’t like that film? (Everyone).

Filming on Black Sunday is set to begin on April 1, 2012.  Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy will direct.  Schwarzenegger will be seen next summer in The Expendables 2.  He also stars in The Last Stand, which opens January 18, 2013.

  1. I’d be surprised if they are allowed to keep that title (Unless the purchase the rights). Last I heard they were thinking of remaking the 1977 film (Bruce Dern/Robert Shaw).

  2. End of Days is certainly one of Arnie’s lesser films, on the same shelf as The Running Man, and Raw Deal, but it’s still enjoyable.

Except for that whole 1999 is really 666 nonscense. That’s little plotpoint was retarded.
