Netflix Sets May 26th Premiere Date for ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT; Order Expanded to 15 Episodes

It’s almost here, folks.  Netflix announced today that the long-awaited new episodes of Arrested Development will premiere on the streaming site at 12:01am PT on Sunday, May 26th.  Moreover, the show’s order has been expanded yet again to 15 total episodes from an initial order of 10.  Netflix stressed that this new batch of episodes does not amount to a fourth season (something Jason Bateman has also been adamant about), but the cast and crew are hoping that this is act one of a story that will be completed with an Arrested Development movie.  Hit the jump for more, including the official poster for this new season.

So yes, we will have over seven hours of new Arrested Development to thumb through over Memorial Day weekend.  Though I was hoping the episodes would drop on Friday like Netflix did with House of Cards, I guess this marathoning Arrested Development isn’t a bad way to spend Memorial Day.  In addition to the entire original cast, the new episodes also feature cameos from Seth Rogen, Kristin Wiig, Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter, John Slattery (Mad Men), Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris), and Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers).

It’s a remake of The Wire Season 2, clearly.

In anticipation of this release I decided to get into character early, and I’m afraid I just Blue myself!

There’s got to be a better way to say that.

I’m sorry, I’m just so excited. I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, so I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.

    I mean, it’s a banana, Michael–what could it cost? 10 dollars?
