We gather here today to mourn the loss of Olicity, 2012 - 2019. This ship, as the say, has finally sailed. Emily Bett Rickards, who has played Felicity Smoak on Arrow since season one, episode three, announced that she would not be returning for The CW series' eighth and final season.

"Felicity and I are a very tight two," the actress wrote in her announcement post. "But after one through seven we will be saying goodbye to you."

Rickards first appeared as Smoak—the comic characters' first live-action adaptation—in the season 1 episode "Lone Gunmen." The IT-worker-turned-hacker-vigilante quickly became the heated subject of both message boards and plotlines alike, and evolved into an integral part of Team Arrow through seven seasons and a few reality changes. (Thanks, Barry.)

Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, revealed earlier this month that Arrow would not be returning after season 8, instead heading off into the sunset after an abbreviated ten-episode return.

Check out Rickard's post below. Arrow returns for its final season Fall 2019.
