Leading today’s latest round-up of news from the world of Superhero TV is a new extended trailer for Season 5 of The CW’s Arrow. In it, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) trains up a new squad of recruits after his old team abandoned him and scattered themselves to the winds. The Green Arrow, however, cannot stop moving forward, as is revealed in this energetic new video. Sure, the punches might not all land and it remains to be seen whether or not audiences will warm to newcomers Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Artemis (Madison McLaughlin), Ragman (Joe Dinicol) and the villainous Tobias Church (Chad Coleman), but fans should be happy to see Echo Kellum stepping further into his role as Mr. Terrific. Get a glimpse of how the new team works together by watching the new trailer below. We’ll see how it all turns out when Season 5 of Arrow debuts on Wednesday, October 5th at 8pm on The CW.
Elsewhere in the Superhero TV landscape, new character posters have emerged for Season 4 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The marketing has leaned heavily on the inclusion of Robbie Reyes, a.k.a. Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), but the new posters remind us that the title team is back in action. Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, and Henry Simmons return for the Season 4 premiere on Tuesday, September 20th at 10pm on ABC.
We’ve also got a few new clips from Season 3 of Fox’s Gotham, which sees the title city getting worse by the day as the villains continue their reign in an absence of any heroes of substance. Fish Mooney’s (Jada Pinkett Smith) return complicates things for the city’s other dapper villains, like Robin Lord Taylor‘s Penguin. We also see young Master Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) attempting to control both his business and his personal affairs, while Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) faces an investigation from a new source: reporter Valerie Vale, played by newcomer Jamie Chung. Gotham returns Monday, September 19th at 8pm on Fox.
