The poster for Arthur has gone online. The trailer went online last week and I found it to be surprisingly humorous. The poster is a bit dull, but posters for comedies usually are. At least they’re not standing in front of a white background.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. Arthur stars Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig, Nick Nolte, Luis Guzmán, and Jennifer Garner. It opens April 8th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Arthur:
Irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach (Russell Brand) has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge–choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi (Greta Gerwig), the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi’s inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and finally learn what it means to become a man, in this re-imagining of the classic romantic comedy “Arthur.”

So excited to see Garner in this. She has such untapped potential as a comedian and a dramatic actress.
:::sigh:::: This movie is being completely marketed wrong. Why is Garner on the poster and featured extensively in the trailer while Greta Gerwig is completely ignored? I like Jennifer Garner but her character (unless this remake is radically different from the original) is not nearly as essential to the story as Gerwig’s. It’s like having a poster for the 1996 Romeo+Juliet movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Pete Postlethwaite, and John Leguizamo
The poster looks quite like ‘How to lose friends and alienate people’ poster…
