Universal and Legendary Pictures have released a trailer, poster, and images for the found-footage horror film As Above, So Below.  The story centers on a team of explorers that venture into the catacombs beneath Paris and possibly stumble upon a gate to hell.  And if there’s going to be a gate to hell, it makes sense it would be underneath Paris.  You’d be rude to everyone too if you knew you were living on top of the damned.  As for the trailer, it looks surprisingly good, and I say that as someone who feels the found-footage horror subgenre is played out.  Also, the poster is easily one of the best of the year thus far.

Hit the jump to check out the As Above, So Below trailer, poster, and images.  The film opens on August 15th, and stars Perdita Weeks (The Invisible Woman), Ben Feldman (Mad Men), and Edwin Hodge (The Purge).

Here’s the official synopsis for As Above, So Below:

Miles of twisting catacombs lie beneath the streets of Paris, the eternal home to countless souls.  When a team of explorers ventures into the uncharted maze of bones, they uncover the dark secret that lies within this city of the dead.  A journey into madness and terror, As Above, So Below reaches deep into the human psyche to reveal the personal demons that come back to haunt us all.
