M. Night Shyamalan has finally revealed the fate of his sequel to Unbreakable. While promoting Devil (the first entry in The Night Chronicles) Shyamalan tells how Unbreakable is one of the favourite films he has done, and whilst he really wanted to make the sequel, he was hindered by other projects. The good news is it’s coming — but not as you’d expect. Shyamalan has taken the script and butchered it, taking the villain from the story and using him in the Night Chronicles series. The word is that the third film in the NC series will be the one to feature the villain and now Shyamalan is hunting for fresh ideas for Unbreakable 2. Katie Holmes is in talks to star opposite Adam Sandler and Al Pacino in Jack and Jill, directed by Dennis Dugan (Grown Ups). According to THR, Jack, a family man, deals with his twin sister, Jill, when she visits for Thanksgiving then won’t leave. Sandler will play both siblings. Holmes would play Sandler’s wife; Pacino is set to play himself. This marks Holmes’ first major studio film since 2005′s Batman Begins and her first film role since appearing in the 2008 low-budget Mad Money.
Holmes has several movies already wrapped including romantic drama “The Romantics”, the crime thriller The Son of No One and the Guillermo del Toro-produced chiller Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. Holmes’ screen return is a good thing and it will be entertaining to see how her talents stack up against the likes of Sandler and Pacino. I think she might be capable of some good comedy, despite her weak performance in Mad Money. Hit the jump for more on Jack and Jill.

Red Hill stars Australian-born HBO heart-throb Ryan Kwanten from True Blood. It marks his first film on home soil since taking on the role of Jason Stackhouse and stars another iconic name of Australian TV and cinema, Steve Bisley. It premiered at this year’s Sydney Film Festival in June and went over well with the crowd. It is certainly lead by the presence of Kwanten and looks likely to make an impact on audiences. The film is released in Australia on December 2nd. Hit the jump to check out the trailer.

You can’t use your 3D glasses for TV at your friends place while watching football — unless he has the same brand TV that you do. Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Well, that’s the current state of affairs with 3D home theatre technology. “It’s like a language and everyone uses their own,” says David Chechelashvili, who heads global retail and distribution at XpanD. “3D TVs are an event-oriented social experience. You can’t have that if everyone has different glasses that won’t work together.” To solve these problems, companies such as XpanD and Monster have created their version of the Babel fish: a pair of universal 3-D glasses that promises to work with any 3D TV set.
