As part of Entertainment Weekly’s ongoing CapeTown Film Fest last night, some lucky fans got to see a special screening of the Falling Skies season 3 premiere.  From the first hour, it looks like the series is kicking off what some could see as a whole new direction.  Once the episode was over, cast members Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Drew Roy and Maxim Knight joined showrunner Remi Aubuchon for a special Q&A. Friday night, Kurt Russell did something that he almost never does. He sat down in front of an audience and answered questions about one of his films. This auspicious event happened at the Q&A screening for Escape from New York that was a part of Entertainment Weekly’s ongoing CapeTown Film Fest. Russell talked about what it was like to work with director John Carpenter and gave fans some great behind-the-scenes info about the shoot, such as details about Snake’s wardrobe and what scene was cut from the film and why. Hugo Weaving Reprises THE MATRIX Role for GE Commercial

If you’re one of those people who loved all of The Matrix movies (okay, or at least a couple of them), and especially Agent Smith, have we got some good news for you. Fans will be happy to hear that Australian actor Hugo Weaving has reprised his role of the mysterious agent.

Well, sort of.

Okay, so it’s not a new Matrix movie, but fans can still get to see Agent Smith again. Weaving is appearing in a new GE commercial for software and other medical equipment that is designed to make patient care better in hospitals.  Hit the jump to check out the commercial.

NINJA TURTLES Finds Its Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, Ninja Turtles, is starting to take shape. After recent news that newcomer Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) had been tapped to play Raphael, more casting news has come down the line about the rest of the turtle team. Deadline reports that Pete Ploszek will play Leonardo, Jeremy Howard will play Donatello, and Noel Fisher will play Michelangelo.

Warner Bros. TV Announces ARROW, REVOLUTION, and TEEN TITANS GO! WonderCon Panels

It’s hard to believe it, but WonderCon 2013 is almost here. With just a few weeks left to go, Warner Bros. Television has announced which shows they will be brining to the convention. This year guests at WonderCon will be treated to advance screenings of upcoming episodes from hit dramas The Following, Arrow and Revolution, the world premiere of Teen Titans Go!, screenings/Q&A’s for all three shows, and special signings for Teen Titans Go! and Arrow.

Karl Urban and Minka Kelly to Star in J.J. Abrams/J.H. Wyman Futuristic Fox Pilot HUMAN

Star Trek‘s J.J. Abrams has wisely added Trek alum Karl Urban and Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly to the cast of his Fox pilot. The new series, called Human, is described as an action-packed buddy cop show set in a future where all LAPD officers are being partnered up with highly evolved human-like androids.  TV Line reports that Urban will play a character named John Kennex, a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission left him critically injured. Syfy Orders Series Pick-Up for Ron Moore Drama HELIX

Picture this: a thriller about a team of scientists from the Center for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. Once there, the team finds themselves in a life-or-death struggle that will hold the key to the annihilation or salvation of mankind.

Sounds good, right? Well, that’s what Syfy thought, too. The cable network announced on Thursday that it has given a straight-to-series order for Ron Moore’s (Battlestar Galactica) new drama Helix.
