In a discussion about female filmmakers on the rise, I'd like to bet Ava DuVernay's name will come up. Even before she started to become a familiar name with Selma, DuVernay was building some serious momentum with her first two narrative features, I Will Follow and Middle of Nowhere. Ever since, DuVernay has been taking on bigger and bigger projects, ultimately leading to A Wrinkle in Time which made her the first African-American woman to solo-direct a movie with a budget over $100 million.

Naturally, not the question has become - where does DuVernay go from here? And partially thanks to this collaboration with Disney, many speculate that the next step is taking on a tentpole franchise like, let's say a Star Wars or Marvel Cinematic Universe film. It's fun to speculate and consider the possibilities, but would DuVernay even take one of the opportunities? Catch her thoughts in our new edition of "Would You Rather," which also features Storm Reid who leads A Wrinkle in Time as Meg, a middle school student who's struggling to cope with the disappearance of her father (Chris Pine) - that is until she realizes she has a chance to bring him home thanks to the help of Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling), Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey) and Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon). Catch Reid and DuVernay playing Would You Rather in the video at the top of this article.
