The Avengers: Age of Ultron opening night box office was booming. Variety reports that the film raked in $27.6 million from opening night screenings. The Avengers pulled in $18.7 million from opening night screenings, although keep in mind that pre-midnight screenings became far more prevalent after the Aurora shooting at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
Nevertheless, Age of Ultron is already speeding towards breaking The Avengers’ all-time opening weekend of $207 million. I’m more curious about whether or not the movie will have legs. Reviews for Age of Ultron have been slightly less positive and there's no longer the novelty of seeing these characters share the screen. The question is what film will be able to dethrone Avengers at the box office.
