On Monday, Marvel released six character posters for The Avengers.  Now, through the magic of Photoshop, Marvel has slightly re-arranged some of the characters and released a new banner for the movie.  Thor should probably keep his head up if he’s in the middle of a huge battle, but he’s also a Norse god so may be he can afford to take a little battle-snooze.

Hit the jump to check out the banner.  The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. JacksonThe Avengers opens in 3D on May 4th.

    Dear Marvel,

Batman never takes his mask off.

    Sincerely,
A guy who doesn’t need to see Robert Downy Jr’s face to know it’s him.

    P.S.
RDJ has been in two Marvel movies already, we’re not going to forget he’s Iron Man.

      Dear Eric Nixon,

      It’s just a poster.

      For promotional purposes.

There are stupid people out there.

      Get over it.

  • Corr

I completely agree with Eric Nixon. Even in some of the other photos we’ve seen from The Avengers, they show Captain America without his mask. Really, they need to keep them on.

I should probably know this, but who is that person standing right behind Iron Man? I can’t recall seeing any other pictures of her.

  • Michael

The poster is much better than the portrait-format one they released. The new Cap artwork works well this time! Not sure why Thor is looking at his crotch though…

Corr, I was wondering the exact same thing – she doesn’t look familiar at all.

  • Michael

Aha! It’s Maria Hill’s Coby Smulders.

  • Max

That would be Maria Hill, who in Marvel 616 continuity enjoyed a short-lived tenure as director of SHIELD after Nick Fury was ousted from the role.
