There’s only one week left until The Avengers opens in theaters, but in case you haven’t heard about it, listen up.  Marvel has managed to unite its greatest cinematic superheros (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Black Widow and, of course, Agent Coulson) onto one screen to battle the villainous Loki.  We’ve posted so much material for you to enjoy that it’s easier to just click on this link right here to check out anything and everything at your leisure (or hit the jump to see where I’ve laid it all out for you, nice and neat).  The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. • Seriously, the wait this week has already sucked the life out of me. These next 6 days are going to be absolutely excruciating now that the rest of the world has seen this movie. WHY MARVEL, WHY :’(

      • Mainly because Piracy. The International market has to deal with A LOT of delay to watch a movie that is being talked about on every corner on the internet and the media (in Venezuela, my country, sometimes we have to wait a whole year between the US and the Latin premiere, sometimes even more), so the “logical” thing to do is try to watch it as soon as possible, meaning downloading it or buying it in a illegal store. In the US you have a minor probability that a lot of people is going to download it illegally and the piracy control is really tight, not like Latin America that even the police buys Pirated Movies.

  1. Well fellas, you’re in for a treat. I saw it two days ago and I already want to see it again. Really, really well done Joss Whedon, maybe now you’ll get the recognition you deserve.

I’m not sure why Australia got the release so early (it’s usually the other way around), but I’m certainly not complaining.

    Get excited guys :)

    • It is also released in India marvel has been releasing their movies one week early to American release in most countries except Captian America (for nostalgic reason).

  2. Just saw it yesterday in Oz…you’ll want to see it again :) I tip my hat to Joss Whedon and Co. for making such a fantastic superhero film…tops anything that has come before…oh and Hulk now needs a separate franchise – put to great use in the movie!

  3. Hey Guys, just like Hansel said your in for a awesome movie.

Joss Whedon has done an amazing job and I like the Thor, Cap America and The incredible Hulk films (although some issues with the scripting on all 3 films), but thought the first Iron Man was the best Marvel offering (solid performances and good story) until I saw The Avengers.

The cast is brilliant, the story is solid, the action scenes are huge (think Transformers but without Michael Bay’s overuse of explosions and flipping cars), and the best part for the comic geeks out there is that there are heaps of funny moments.

Its a tough call, but The Avengers is on par with The Dark Knight for best superhero movie of all time.

Cheers from Down Under – the place where movies always come out later than everywhere else, except for this one for some reason -due to our ANZAC day Public Holiday last week I suppose.

  4. this movie is a nerdgasm watched it today on 3D it was AMAZING!!! INCREDIBLE!!! with a few flops but the final battle will be incomparable!!!

  5. Today Disney/Marvel/Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers has already grossed more than its production budget (estimated to $220 million) in overseas markets. The movie is expected to rocket past $500-600 million by Sunday, and become a worldwide box-office tsunami. Mark Ruffalo has signed a 6-film deal for The Hulk, and Samuel L.Jackson may sign a 9-film deal as Nick Fury…

Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse is going to be soon a multi-millionaire !
