This year sees the culmination of four years of Marvel superhero movies, as the studio’s principal characters unite for May’s The Avengers.  As the release is looming closer, the marketing campaign for the film seems to be ramping up.  We’re starting to get looks at the film’s action figures, and the stars recently graced the cover(s) of Empire Magazine.  Steve is currently braving the snow in Park City at the Sundance Film Festival, and he stumbled across a fairly ingenious bit of marketing for the film.  Tony Stark’s new Acura is on display behind a closed-door setup at the festival, and the vehicle comes with some pretty fantastic features.

The 2012 Stark Industries Super Car comes fully equipped with a palm-scan ID steering wheel, enviro-clone projected hologram of surroundings, self-detonating recon drone, night-vision HUD windshield, and oh so much more. Hit the jump to see the full list of features, and to check out some photos of this $9,198,000 car that gets 234 mpg.  The Avengers opens in 3D May 4th.

Here’s the specs of the car according to Acura:

    Audi R8 > Anything Acura

  2. Lulzatron @

    agreed

  3. nkutzler @

Agreed as well. But why are they showing this to us? In case we are looking to BUY it?
And why would Stark need it, either? HE’S IRON MAN.

  4. Mr.Rich316 @

Now I know how Stark is a billionaire…sells cars to the govt. Brilliant!!!

  5. 198d @

Is it just me, or does a car getting 234/302 mpg’s seem way more unrealistic and impossible, than a man wearing a suit of armor, flying in the air, and shooting missiles?

  6. theavenger @

Since half the stuff in this car isn’t real, I wouldn’t spend even $100 on it. But the concept is freakin’ sweet…

If only the DeLorean came with this package…that would be a real beast.

  7. Mik @

    Stark 33 degree FreeMason! HAHAHAHAHA!

  8. Revenant Shadow @

    What a FANTASTIC concept car!

  9. Jay McKells @

That car would be an absolute nightmare to sell second-hand…

Looks like a whole sale rip-off of the R8 with typically ugly Acura adornments pasted onto it.

You do know that this is a movie car that is constructed on the original NSX chassis. The interior, dash, etc, are all first gen NSX products while the outside bodywork is the only change. Your comments merely point out your short sightedness as the NSX was designed and built 20+ years ago. It’s in fact the R8 that is a rip off of the Acura. Better get your facts straight next time.

      • Smatchimo @

Not only are you arrogant in assuming the R8 ripped off the original NSX in any form, your long winded and superfluous comment makes you seem like an Extreme D-Bag. As a result, I nor anyone else should take a single word you type seriously. Have a great fucking day, fan boi.

      • BlackPrince @

@Snatchimo – how about you LEARN something about cars before spouting off nonsense? THe NSX was the ORIGINAL mid-engined real world everyday supercar, which I wont say the R8 copied, but it certainly was inspired by it.

  11. The Man @

It has alot of detail for just a film prop. Is it actually an extension of Starks armor? Maybe it is actually the Hulk Buster armor/mecha.

  12. JDMCarguy @

Like the car, but WTF are Diamond quartz cross-drilled brake calipers? And why would you drill holes in the calipers? Wouldn’t you rather drill the rotors, and leave the calipers and the pistons un-drilled?

But maybe it’s just poor old me, lacking some imagination…

  13. Bezza @

Love the spelling mistake in the bottom right of the spec-sheet…”For more information on “Acrua” vehicles, go to ACURA.COM

  14. jezza @

this and the AUDI R8 sucks. GTR is cheaper and better than both, this is just a stupid publicity stunt. R8 is just overrated in everyway.

  15. ??what @

Those brakes are a joke. There are bigger brakes on my bicycle (hyperbole). Seriously, titanium forged block AND conventional piston brakes. Bs, at least put some big brakes on that thing. A 1980s moped has bigger discs.
