New Set Photos from THE AVENGERS [Updated with Images of Entire Cast]

     September 2, 2011

Yep, more new set photos have surfaced from The Avengers. Production on the Joss Whedon-directed flick has now moved from Cleveland to New York, and some passersby have snapped some photos of the construction of a set smack dab in the middle of Park Ave and 40th. If you don’t mind minor spoilers, hit the jump to check out the photos.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson.  The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012.

[Update: We’ve updated the article with images of Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston on set in costume.]

[Update #2: Okay, now we’ve got the entire cast, including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Stellan Skarsgard and director Joss Whedon.]

As you can see, it appears that a Quinjet will crash-land in New York City. The majority of the actual vehicle looks to be added in post-production, but some of the shell is visible, as is the destruction caused by its mishap.

And here’s an image of a Quinjet from the Marvel Database for reference:
