THE AVENGERS “Sneak Peek” and Marvel One-Shot: “The Consultant” from the Upcoming THOR Blu-ray

by     Posted 2 years, 363 days ago

As review copies of the upcoming Thor Blu-ray are going out, it’s not surprising that some of the disc’s noteworthy extras are being posted online.  First up, there’s the “Road to The Avengers“, a sneak peek which is almost entirely worthless.  There’s no footage from the movie, and it’s mostly a puff piece where talking heads celebrate the scope of the picture and how great it is to work with everyone.  The only moment of any value is when director Joss Whedon says that the idea that fuels the film is this group of superheroes becoming a team and “finding what they didn’t have before.”  The other special feature is a short film, “Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant”.  If you ever wanted to see the mundane behind-the-scenes activities of S.H.I.E.L.D., you’ll love this short, which feels like a fan film except they got Clark Gregg to star in it.

Hit the jump to check out the videos.  Thor hits DVD, Blu-ray, and 3D Blu-ray on September 13th.  The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012.

Once again, Collider tells us what we should like and what we shouldn’t like……

Frankly I like the idea of a DVD extra mapping the process that led to the Avenger movie. The entire plan was such a bold move by Marvel and took careful and intricate planning to pull off. But according to Collider it’s not worth your time because there is no new footage in it. Okay Collider, I won’t watch it then. Thanks for posting something and taking the time to tell me it’s not worth my time.

Completely agree. I used to champion Collider for NOT being the cynical pricks that so many other sites have fallen prey to. Then, this Goldberg guy shows up with his half baked ” editorials” and snarky two cents for every film, and now i have to find a new site to get my film love on.

Ps. Wouldn’t be surprised if this comment never sees the light of day. The last time I tried to ” critique” Matt’s LACK of talent, my comment was “unapproved” by the “moderator”. Hmmm sounds like someone can dish it but can’t take it.

Yes! So happy to see that one-shot finally come out. I worked in that piece earlier this year. There is another one to come!

Jeeesus Goldberg, can you ever write anything that’s not cynical, sarcastic, or completely freaking negative? It’s like you suck all the goddamn energy out a motherf-ing article. I can’t read anything at all with enthusiasm, because all you do is crush it. As of this article, I am deciding that the next time I see another article with your name on it listed as the author, I’m not even going to bother. You’re managing to suck the life out of every article on, and I’m seriously goddamn sick of your Debbie Downer attitude. Man!

  • Scott Pilgrim Vs. Collider

Seriously, Matt. I mean you’re entitled to your opinion, and all, but do you REALLY have to shove it down everyone’s throat. Some people WANT to watch these movies and enjoy these clips. You don’t have to ruin them for everyone by showing us how much you don’t like them and being a snide jerk.

Enough with your negativity already, buddy. Just report the news, like you’re supposed to.
