There has already been an exhaustive coverage of Back to the Future leading up to today’s release of the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition, but who doesn’t want more of Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Einstein? And so, hot off the heels of our sneak peek at two clips from the Blu-ray set last week, and footage of a young Eric Stoltz portraying Marty, we are pleased to bring you the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Blu-ray/DVD Press Conference.

Most of the cast, including Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson, talk about the film – fondest memories, the social impact the film has had, etc.  While the footage doesn’t reveal anything new (except that Lea Thompson doesn’t think her pink dress from the film is appropriate for her daughters) it’s always fun to see the gang back together. Check it out after the jump.

Back to the Future is easily one of my favorite films. Boasting terrific performances, a sharp script, and a terrific Alan Silvestri score, Robert Zemeckis’ 1985 film is deserving of its status as a classic.

The following videos are from yesterday’s press conference:

Fox discusses the film:

Zemeckis talks about the difficult schedule:

Favorite quotes from the movies:

Huey Lewis talking about his song “The Power of Love”:

Fox and Thompson talk about their kids’ experience with the film:

Fox and Thompson talk about the film:

Zemeckis on the film’s legacy:

The cast talks about the props they kept:

Fondest memory of the cast:

Pictures of Huey Lewis, Mary Steenburgen, Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, and Robert Zemeckis:

There is clearly someone missing here…

seriously, there is one blaring omission of characters.

Loved them all, but it would’ve been great to have Thomas F. Wilson there, since he was such a presence in all 3 movies.

Makes you wonder of a fourth film.. which could be either a great flick, or an awful one.

must get old for them to answer the same questions over and over again. I’ve (as well as many others) have wondered why T Wilson is really never involved. I’m sure many have speculated. ill feelings (probably not), done deal/past is the past, tired of it thus the song, ect. Anyone come upon an interview of this?

Back to the Future is my all-time favourite film. I have the DVD trilogy and am hoping for the Blu-ray edition in my stocking this Christmas. I can’t imagine the film being as successful without this cast. Only Michael J. Fox can be Marty McFly, only Christopher Lloyd can be Doc Brown, only Lea Thompson can be Lorraine Baines, only Thomas F. Wilson can be Biff Tannen… well, you get the idea. This movie is a classic, so whatever you do, DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER ONE—no sequel, no remakes, nothing! You can’t improve on perfection.
