Fanshees, I have some truly heartbreaking news. The final season of Banshee has been delayed from its initial premiere date of January 29th to April 1st (a cruel choice, Cinemax — a cruel joke!) Show creator Jonathan Tropper made the announcement on Twitter, which you can view below. The upcoming season will be Banshee’s last, but, here’s the bright side: maybe the delay means that these final episodes are going to be even more epic than we could have hoped. Because frankly, it’s looking pretty durn epic as is.

As an apology of sorts, Cinemax released a new trailer, which is really just acting as a mega tease:

"Burn it to the ground."

It’s Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) unleashed! Brock (Matt Servitto) is all in! (But still dealing with trust issues). Kai (Ulrich Thomsen) and Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) are having a parlay? Are those … swords? Why is everything on fire? Why isn’t this premiering January 29th …

But, the delayed premiere it means we don’t have to say goodbye right away, which is a good thing. And, it might be a good opportunity to get friends and loved ones on the Banshee train before it leaves the station. The show also stars Frankie Faison, Hoon Lee, Lili Simmons, Ryann Shane, Matthew Rauch, and ton of other badasses.

As mentioned earlier, Banshee’s final season will now conclude April 1st, 2016 on Cinemax.
