This item will probably end up being filed under “crazy Batman 3 casting rumors” when all is said and done, but it’s reasonable and interesting enough to report. Joseph Gordon-Levitt reportedly joked with director Christopher Nolan on the set of Inception that he’d love to read for the next Batman film. The more they joked, the more they actually came to like the idea. And now Hollywood Life reports that Levitt is “on the shortlist” to play The Riddler.
This makes a lot more sense than the rumor that pegged Eddie Murphy as The Riddler. But David Goyer is still working on the script, and there are two summers between us and the announced July 20, 2012 release date, so we’re likely months away from any official casting notices. Though I am rather fond of the idea… At the very least, you can enjoy the pair’s work in Inception when it hits theaters on July 16th.

The best riddler would be that guy who played deathpool in X-men origins.

TheGirl, sweetheart, serious awards have everything to do with talent. I;m talking about awards given to you by your peers. JGL has been nominated for several indie style awards(as those are the types of films he usually makes).
As far as I am concerned David Tennant is perfect for the role and I don't know why they are considering anyone else!!!
I like the idea. People said the same about Heath as the Joker. I think this would be a great look 4 him (Since G.I. Joe fuckin sucked Goat ass in a sandstorm)
nah, I think he could play Bronze Tiger or Black Lightning, no Penguin.
I think he is a good choice, if they do put the riddler in the next film, hopefully it'll be more Edward Nigma brought in by police to try find out who the Batman is, but instead of telling the police who he is, using what he finds out to his own advantage somehow.
Chris Nolan likes to use actors he has worked with before in his films so David Tennant is a no chance (hopefully), same goes for Crispin Glover. DiCaprio could be brought in to replace Heath if the Joker does reappear, but since the joker is now locked away in Arkham, if he was seen in the next movie then it would be without his face paint.
Im sorry but i dont think such a big actor like Johnny Depp should play a role like this. Yes theres no denying that he is good at acting, but i see his name everywhere ! Hes nothing new. Just look at Heath Ledgers performance in The Dark Knight and my point is pretty much proved that you dont need a mega famous actor to pull off a big role like this. After watching Lost for several years, i think that Micheal Emerson would be a very good choice. He is incredible at playing Ben, and i think that if he was given a role like this, he would not fail !
Joseph Gordon Levitt would be a great choice. He has the acting skills and he looks like the Riddler. Johnny Depp would be a bad choice. We've seen him in everything already. Let a different actor define the role.
And the Joker is dead people, get over it. I couldn't imagine Nolan replacing him, its impossible.
I would pick Johnny Depp just because he is a mysterious person in almost all his roles and to me thats what the riddler would be is mysterious and ruthless and thats what johnny depp gives alot of his characters
Or David Tennant also. Him and Johnny both have the same look and talent. I dont think it depends on how big the star is i think it depends on how much he can get into his role and if he has experience in the area of the character cause after all whoever it will be has big shoes to fill after the performance of heath as the joker!! Also the new posters she Kristen Bell has Harlem Quinn- Marion Cotillard as the Catwoman- and David Tennant as the Riddler and (still is rumors of the third rock from sun actor and johnny depp) also it has a character with his back turned with a mask in his hand and it looked like The Bane character but to me that wouldnt make since and would be to much goin on in the film. Look it up for the posters and possible villians in the upcoming film. They are on youtube and all over different parts of the internet!
