Batman Goes Iron Man in New BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Gameplay Trailer

I really enjoyed Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, but it looks like developer Rocksteady has gone bonkers with the upcoming conclusion of the trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight.  Batman’s moves are ridiculous, all of his villains are teaming up with Scarecrow as the main bad guy, and now a new trailer shows that the Dark Knight has Iron Man-style armor.  How much damage can I possibly take from a random street thug if I’m wearing metal-plated armor?  Also speaking of ridiculous, this new trailer bills itself as a “Gameplay”, and while I’m sure the game will look amazing, I doubt it will be using many of these camera angles during gameplay. Hit the jump to check out the new Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay trailer.  The game will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 14th.  Click here to pre-order the game on Amazon.

Here’s the official synopsis for Batman: Arkham Knight:

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.

I just think it looks meh. The big ending is just a gun being held to batman’s head with a cut to black and gunshot sound. In the game, it will likely be a pretty insignificant moment.

      Ok?

      • Mike

Then why did the trailer end on it as if it were some interesting cliff hanger moment?

      • Doug

For hype! That’s was cliffhangers are for!

      • Brad

Why would they give away one of the most signifcant parts of the game in the trailer?

you got it wrong, the Arkham Knight is not Batman, it’s the villian and he’s the one with the Iron Man style suit

    • bidi

i think he was referring to those cuts early on where armor was fitting itself into place ala Iron Man suiting up

The Arkham Knight as the Arkham logo on his chest.

How anyone can’t be excited by this trailer is mind boggling.

You get to drive the BATMOBILE ffs.

For those wondering why their comments are getting deleted, it’s
because you’re being rude. If you want to be a jerk, we don’t want you
here, and we’re done putting up with your shit.

Lob insults at me, anyone who writes for this site, or any other commenter, and you’re gone. Simple as that.

Biggest if for this game is the driving. All the other aspects looks good.

What’s wrong with Scarecrow being the main bad guy? It’s not like the Joker MUST be the main villain in ALL Batman stories (and, frankly, it’s even overdone by this point).

Not to mention he seems to think this is the 3rd game of a trilogy. Batman: Arkham Origins must not have been on his radar.

  • http://collider.com Matt Goldberg

Arkham Origins is a prequel and wasn’t developed by Rocksteady.

  • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Origins doesn’t count. Different development team and such. They’ve said though its the same universe the Origins world will continue on, while this ENDS the Trilogy that started with Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City, with Arkham Knight ending that story. Origins is it’s own series.
