Henry Cavill and Amy Adams Accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in Costume on the Set of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Who hasn’t done the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at this point?  We’ve seen Chris Pratt do it, James Wan just posted his video, R2D2 got hit with a bucket full of ice water, and even my own mother tried to give it a go!  But this next one is a particularly cool one, and not just because it continues to help spread awareness about a condition we know so little about.

Not only did Henry Cavill and Amy Adams choose to accept the challenge, but they opted to do so in full costume on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  I can’t imagine the wardrobe department being too thrilled about having that Superman suit absolutely soaked, but it’s a blast to watch and will likely help the campaign get closer to the $80 million mark – if it hasn’t reached it already.  Hit the jump to check out the Batman v Superman ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video and of course, don’t forget to keep spreading the word and if you can, donate yourself by clicking here.

Here’s the video of Cavill and Adams doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge dressed as Superman and Lois Lane on the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set and if you’d like to catch some of the others we mentioned, you can find them as well as videos from Patrick Stewart, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kermit the Frog and, a personal favorite, one from Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice guy), below.

This whole production just needed a cold bucket of water , to help start not taking itself so seriously.
Seriously. If Henry Cavill plays Superman OR Clark with Half as much genuine unbridled glee as he has after 5 buckets of ice water on his shoulders, then there is genuine hope for this entire production.

Superman is – after all – ALL of us, once we’ve done something selfless & ridiculous, like taking the Ice Bucket challenge. =]

I don`t understand, what`s the point of these Ice Bucket Challenge campaigns?

The old spice one is hilarious but are they only donating $1,000? They probably spent more than that to make that video, which is just a commercial for old spice that is piggybacking off the popularity of the ice bucket challenge..

Both Affleck and Gal Gadot did the challenge last week, as did Snyder. Though sadly neither Affleck nor Gadot did the challenge in their respective costumes.

It’s amazing what this challenge has done for fundraising for ALS but there are so many worthwhile charities that maybe they should switch it up each month or so to help even more people.

I’m wondering who is more jacked, Cavill or Affleck, both are packing a fair bit of muscle.

    all that wasted water!

This challenge is an utter disgrace. Most of these videos are nothing else but ‘attention-whoring’. Barely any of them mention the disease by its full name, ALS could stand for just about anything, e.g. ‘All Ladies Shaved’. It doesn’t mention anything about the disease, rarely any info about where and how to donate. Many of these celebrities don’t even mention that they are going to donate. It seems like they just want to do the challenge, have fun and nominate some people.

So far $88.5 million was raised. 88.5 mil? Yeah, it’s more than those $2.6 million raised in the same span last year, but it is not exactly much, considering almost every famous actor/actress, director, singer, politician, business mogul, internet personality, celebrity of any kind is involved in this. I mean, in 2014 alone R. Downey, Jr. had made, according to Forbes, $75 mil. GOTG had a reported budget of $170 million. Most of these ‘challenged’ celebrities either hadn’t donated at all (as was already said some of them never say the words on camera) or donate a lousy $100.

And finally all that water that was wasted over these few weeks? There are people in the world dying of thirst, their crops are withering, their husbandry animals collapsing of dehydration. Some people in desert areas (e.g. Sahara) won’t see rainfall amounting to one bucket of water for years. And some of these celebrities in their pursuit for attention go out of their way to waste two or more buckets of water, where one bucket would be more than enough as the rules say.

OTOH, I applaud to those few who took the challenge the way it should be done as for example Sir Patrick Steward had demonstrated.
