You might have noticed some Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice news floating around courtesy of an extra who chose to break his signed confidentiality agreement today, but now we’ve finally got a more concrete report that doesn’t call for Warner Bros. to file lawsuit.

Apparently multiple sources have confirmed that Jena Malone is indeed in the film, but there’s no word on whether or not she’s actually portraying a female version of Batman’s sidekick, Robin.  Hit the jump for more on Malone’s involvement in the film.  Batman v Superman is due in theaters on March 25, 2016 and also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy and Jeremy Irons.

Malone was spotted on the Detroit set back in August, so there’s been speculation that she has a role in the film for a while now.  (Although it did seem totally possible that she was just visiting her Sucker Punch director, Zack Snyder.)  On top of that, two weeks ago, Malone posted this picture on her Instagram account:

Is that some Carrie Kelley hair I see there?  It’s certainly possible, but the only thing THR is asserting at this point is that Malone is in the film.  However, the outlet does mention that Snyder has said he’s drawing from The Dark Knight Returns a bit and Carrie Kelley is part of that mini-series.

Whether this whole Robin thing is true or not, having Malone attached to the production in any way is a plus.  She just killed in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as Johanna Mason and is also a standout in Inherent Vice as well, not to mention the many other accomplishments on her lengthy resume.
