Throughout the production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a friendly back-and-forth materialized with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The two films were shooting at the same time, and directors Zack Snyder and J.J. Abrams took to social media to trade little in-jokes like Henry Cavill wielding a lightsaber or C-3PO striking a Batman pose. So I suppose it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Snyder, currently in post-production on Justice League, put together a mash-up video that combines Batman v Superman with Star Wars.

Your mileage on this video may vary. Snyder is undoubtedly a talented visual filmmaker, but storytelling is not exactly his forte. To be honest, if you told me this video was created by some random fan I’d believe it. It doesn’t quite come together, and aside from some striking imagery (again, he’s great with visuals!), I don’t entirely see the point.

But that’s just me. It’s possible fans of both Batman v Superman and Star Wars will find something to love here. If anything, it’s a reminder of how much time Snyder gets to craft his films. Justice League began filming early this year and it doesn’t hit theaters until next November, so the filmmaker has plenty of time to put together the superhero team up. Which means he has time for fun little side projects like this trailer mash-up.

Check it out below. Snyder first unveiled the trailer mash-up on the social media service Vero.
