Earlier this month we brought you the trailer and details for the upcoming Batman v Superman: The Ultimate Edition, the upcoming R-rated extended cut of Batman v Superman that features 30 minutes of new footage. If you were lamenting having to watch the bigger, badder cut of the film on your home media, we've got good news. Warner Bros. just announced that they're bringing The Ultimate Edition to the big screen in theaters throughout the country -- there's just one catch, it's a one night only event.
Warner Bros will bring the film to limited theaters nationwide on Tuesday, June 27th. The Ultimate Edition not only features brand new footage, but also entirely new characters that didn’t appear in the theatrical cut of the film, like Jena Malone’s mystery role. It runs 182 minutes in length and is Rated R for sequences of violence. Of course, if you can't make the screenings, you'll only have to wait a day. The Ultimate Edition lands early on Digital HD on June 28th and Blu-ray July 19th.Of course, while that Blu-ray comes with a whole bunch of special features, but only on your biggest home video screen, so if you're set on seeing the R-rated cut in theaters, check out the full list of participating theaters below and head over to WBTickets.com to secure your spot at one of the screenings.
