As Batman vs. Superman (tentative title) and The Avengers: Age of Ultron move through pre-production, word is leaking of possible shooting locations for these gigantic superhero films.  As we reported last week, Batman vs. Superman‘s release date has been pushed back to May 6, 2016, but it’s still planning to start filming this year.  Production will begin in the second quarter, and according to tweets collected by HenryCavillOnline.com, director Zack Snyder was hanging around the alien-looking Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.

Hit the jump to see a couple images of the museum, and to learn about a potential location for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which opens on May 1, 2015.

According to BadTaste.it, there may be some superheroic happenings in north Italy this year.  Governor of Valle d’Aosta, Augusto Rollandin, held a press conference this morning announcing that the Bard Fortress and surrounding areas of north Italy would be used as shooting locations for The Avengers: Age of Ultron in March.  We don’t know if the cast will be filming here or if this is for the second unit, but either way, it’s a gorgeous landscape:

I bet the second pic is Baron Strucker’s base. It looks visually similar to Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest.

I was thinking the same thing, we might get our first shot of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver here. But i was kinda hoping the castle would be for Batman vs Superman and the museum used for the origin of Ultron.

I didn’t know Baron Strucker was appearing in Age of Ultron? News to me, good news non the less.

Thats weird, you would think that it would be the other way around. The first picture of the museum looks like a building that you would see in Avengers due to the Futuristic/comic book feel of the building and the Fortress from Italy looks like something that you would see in the Batman vs Superman movie due to the Darker tone of the movies DC is going. plus it also looks like a good place to use if they say Bruce wayne was trained by the League of Shadows this go around

Exactly my thoughts, which hopefully means both are stepping out of their comfort zones maybe? Or at least changing things up?

I’d bet that they’d use the museum for STAR Labs

Beautiful location (the castle). Props for actually filming in the real world and not a computer, truly. The other one looks plucked from an Adam West Batman, so also perfect.

Both cool locations, especially the one in Italy looks gorgeous. Would have been cool if the Fortress was for Batman vs Superman and have it where Bats trained. If the museum is for BvS my guess is its S.T.A.R Labs or just a location for a charity event hosted by Bruce. If it is S.T.A.R Labs, as far as I know, doesn’t the Lab in Gotham specialise in weaponry and the Lab in Metropolis specialise in Marine Biology? Marine Biology…Aquaman? Could just be me getting excited and wishful thinking, but would be cool if that was the case.

At first I thought the second picture could have been Doom’s Latveria.
