While Zack Snyder said he asked for Christopher Nolan’s blessing to move forward with Batman v Superman, newly minted Batfleck similarly reached out to Batmen of the past. In a new interview Good Morning America, Affleck revealed he got some tips on playing the character from George Clooney (the Batman of Batman & Robin) and Christian Bale (the Batman of Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy).
Unfortunately, he didn’t reveal what Clooney offered, saying “he had some advice which is not repeatable.” (If I had to guess, maybe it had something to do with negative fan reaction to his casting, which is something Affleck can relate to.) Bale, on the other hand, told Affleck to make sure his Bat suit had a zipper, presumably for those emergency bathroom breaks.
Henry Cavill continued by explaining their characters’ bad blood:
“When Supes turns up, when he shows himself, he makes a bit of a mess. I mean, I would saw Bruce is probably one of the few people who thinks, ‘I could probably find a way of stopping this guy if needs be.’ And so, I think it’s out of just being careful.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice continues the events set up in Man of Steel as DC’s titans face off with each other. Waiting on the sidelines for his big moment is Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), who’s ready to bring out his Doomsday back-up plan. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will also feature before headlining her own solo film in 2017, while the other Justice League members will be teased ahead of their big event film.
A lot is riding on this film. This is audiences’ first real look at what the expanded DC cinematic universe looks like, and there are lot of characters and interweaving storylines that need to be cohesively set up. We’ll have to see if this can be pulled off, though a recent report suggests the future isn’t as bright as fans might hope.
