Remember back in the heady days of May 2014 when we got our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (although we were still calling it Batman vs Superman, which is a much better title)? Good times. Times when you could speculate about the emblem on his chest, how much the costume resembled the design from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, and so forth.

Today we have a throwback to those simpler times as photographer Clay Enos has released a new image of Affleck as Batman standing in front of the Batmobile. It’s in full color, although you could be forgiven for thinking that it’s still black-and-white based on the limited color palette. But that’s Batman: he loves to work in black, and he’ll be damned if there’s a trace of color on his suit. He can completely disappear at night or if he’s in the tires section at the local Costco.

So over a year later, does a new image of Ben Affleck as Batman still hold any magic for you? Does it get you excited for this film? Or have the trailers and other marketing make you itch for a first look at The Flash (Ezra Miller) or some other element that we haven’t glimpsed yet?

Check out the new Batman v Superman image below. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016, and also stars Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Laurence Fishburne.
