You don’t have to be a sci/fi filmgoer to have Battle: Los Angeles on your radar of must see films.  But if for some odd reason the first teaser trailer with it’s haunting music, dazzling visuals and overall coolness didn’t make you crave more facts about this motion picture, this new trailer certainly will.  And while what you’ll see is a slightly beefed up version of the international trailer, you will not be sorry to feast your eyes on what is almost certain to be both a critical and commercial hit.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer, learn much more about the movie itself, and be sure to give us your thoughts on all that you see, read and hear.

Here’s the official synopsis for Battle: Los Angeles

“For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, and China. But in 2011, what were once sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.”

If this synopsis doesn’t get your inner film geek juices flowing, I don’t know what will. Do yourself a favor and try this:

-

Just over a month ago Collider’s own Steve “Frosty” Weintraub conducted an interview with the film’s star Aaron Eckhart.  Aaron plays the film’s facts pretty close to his chest which only piques one’s interest in this seemingly top-secret film.

Collider was there for the film’s official press conference at last years San Diego Comic Con.  Again the actors, producer, Neil Moritz, and director, Jonathan Liebsman, were tightlipped about the project, yet their enthusiasm and the small fact nuggets they dropped were just as intriguing as the secrecy of the film itself.

When all the trailers and interviews are said and done, it’s abundantly clear that this film will be everything that Skyline wanted to be and so much more.
