If you live in California and you are a big “Battlestar Galactica” fan then you may want to check out two performances by the series’ composer – the talented Mr. Bear McCreary. McCreary will conduct an evening of “Music from Battlestar Galactica” on June 13th to kick off the Grand Performance Series at California Plaza. I do not live in California so you are going to have to Google the directions yourself…
Bear will again revisit his signature creations for “BSG” on July 23-25 at the San Diego site of the famed House of Blues. That’s during Comic-Con, just in case you were planning on attending this year and wanted to visit another completely-crowded tourist spot
Seriously, though. If you loved “Battlestar” then you have to give it up to the haunting scores McCreary fashioned for the series. Just imagine what it would have been like if they had just used the standard collection of Jason Mraz songs favored by shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” and I think you can see why we should all say a big “thank you” to Bear. And if you really want to thank him you will pick up the new collection of tunes he has created for the series “Caprica”. La-La Land will release that soundtrack disk on June 16th.
